The left's draft scam returns! By Rizzuto Fri Aug 22, 2008 - So does this video prove that John McCain supports the draft? Of course it doesn't, but of that's not what the left would have you believe. You remember this from the 2004 campaign don't you? When in doubt, the left is going to try to scare you with talk of a draft. Take a look at our official Bunkvoter Draft Counter which you can find on the right hand side of the website if you scroll down a bit. There you'll find all of the greatest hits of Draft fearmongering from 2004 including such classics as Paul Krugmans, "[Bush] insists that he won't revive the draft. But the facts suggest that he will", and how can we forget MTV's, "The Defense Department is using every measure at its disposal to maintain the military's ranks." My new favorite draft quote from Think Progress though: In June, McCain said it would take an “all-out World War III” to make the draft necessary — which seems to mean he’d consider it.It kind of reminds me of that scene from Dumb and Dumber where Jim Carrey is told that his chances with Lauren Holly are one in a million. Then when he finds out she's married he disappointingly asks, "what was all that one in a million talk?" But just in case you still can't possibly comprehend the idea of the left being deceptive about McCain's position, here's McCain last September when he was asked about the draft, point-blank.
