Olbermann blows it on Ifill By Rizzuto Thu Oct 02, 2008 - In one of Olbermann's most partisan and vicious screeds he's ever given (which is a feat), Olbermann blames the McCain campaign for Ifill's bias, arguing that her book which includes a generous section about Barack Obama, was such common knowledge that the McCain camp was stupid for not knowing about it. I'm tired of giving this man space on this blog, but here's the segment from yesterday's Countdown: Ironically, the same day, his own news organization made a fool of him by contradicting the very premise of his screed. This from MSNBC: The host of PBS’ “Washington Week” and senior correspondent on “The NewsHour” said she did not tell the Commission on Presidential Debates about the book.Keith, if it was such a non-issue and common knowledge like you say...why didn't she feel the need to include it on her resume? You would figure that a book, being published on inauguration day would be a big selling point right? Oh, wait a second no, it would prove a bias...which is why she hid it from those choosing the debate moderator. Olbermann accuses the McCain campaign of being stupid because they didn't know of this book. Why? Wasn't it the job of the Commission on Presidential Debates to vet the moderators so that the campaigns don't have to? Wouldn't his vitriol be more justified if it was directed at the CPD?
