Rationing the Swine Flu Vaccine; a peek at our future under ObamaCare By Rizzuto Thu Jul 30, 2009 - This is a sign of things to come when it comes to government run healthcare. This from the Associated Press: On Wednesday a federal vaccine advisory panel is meeting to take up the question of who should be first to get swine flu shots when there aren't enough for everyone. At the top of the list are health care workers, who would be crucial to society during a bad pandemic.Prioritization in healthcare? The CDC is a federal agency, and federal agencies don’t engage in prioritization (see rationing) when it comes to healthcare right? Obama says so. So how can this be? The hard truth as that the distribution of Swine Flu vaccines is being centrally planned by the CDC, and is therefore going to be plagued by all of the problems that come along with central planning; shortages, inability to accurately gauge demand, and inefficiency in distribution. If you’ll remember, the same thing happened with Bird Flu vaccines. Don’t worry, just pick a number and take a seat. The doctor will be with you shortly.
