The Left and A Tale of Two Mobs
By Rizzuto

Sat Aug 08, 2009 - In April, when it suited him politically, Obama harnessed the power of the pitchfork wielding mob to bring the major banks to heel. This from an April 3rd article from The Politico that described a meeting Mr. Obama had with the CEO’s of the major banks:
“These are complicated companies,” one CEO said. Offered another: “We’re competing for talent on an international market.”

But President Barack Obama wasn’t in a mood to hear them out. He stopped the conversation and offered a blunt reminder of the public’s reaction to such explanations. “Be careful how you make those statements, gentlemen. The public isn’t buying that.”

“My administration,” the president added, “is the only thing between you and the pitchforks.”
So it’s acceptable when anger is directed at the private sector, but when the mob zeros in on the real source of its problems, an overbearing and power hungry state, that’s out of bounds.

The key difference is that one mob is useful to Obama as it allowed him to take unprecedented action against the banks, while the other stands in his way. Anyone remember this fun little episode?
A corps of agitators - financed, ironically, with federal-stimulus millions - is making the rounds of suburban mansions and posh co-ops of Wall Street bankers and CEOs, haranguing them for their errors in the housing crisis.

"When you take our homes, we're going to your homes to make you accountable," said activist Bruce Marks, following a sunny weekend of marching with 350 angry protesters at two high-profile targets.

The group, chanting into their bullhorns and waving protest signs such as "Make Your Home, Our Home," rallied for an hour around the Rye, NY, mansion of John Mack, head of Morgan Stanley.

The crowd earlier struck in nearby Greenwich, Conn., pouring into a gated enclave and onto the grounds of the palatial home of Greenwich Financial Services CEO William Frey. No incidents or CEO sightings were reported at either spot.
Funny how the protesting of private citizens by NACA (Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America) flunkies didn’t draw the criticism that anti-government healthcare protesters have drawn, especially considering the NACA mob exhibited all of the traits that leftist lawmakers now seem to decry, including; having been bussed in, wearing matching shirts, having professionally produced signs, and various other signs of “astroturfing”.
