The Geraldine Ferraro Saga: Why She's 100% Right
By Rizzuto

Tue Mar 11, 2008 - I had posted this story earlier in the day but it deserves a second look. especially. Fararro is refusing to back down from her statement that "If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position. And if he was a woman (of any color), he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept.".

Ferraro is not going to simply shut her mouth and go away. This from the Politico :

"Any time anybody does anything that in any way pulls this campaign down and says let's address reality and the problems we're facing in this world, you're accused of being racist, so you have to shut up," Ferraro said. "Racism works in two different directions. I really think they're attacking me because I'm white. How's that?"

Can we even broach the question...or would that be racist? The bottom line is that Ferraro has a point. Look at Obama's record as compared to say, Joe Biden. Biden has more experience actually enacting change in the Senate. Same goes for Christopher Dodd, or any number of former Dem candidates. What Obama has sold to his throngs is certainly not experience, but personality and a concept, a big part of which is his race (or at least the concept of a racial first in the White House.) It's undeniable.

What Ferraro is now falling into is the leftist constructed PC barrier which states that any statement of a "racial" tone, is inherently racist. This keeps us from actually exploring the truth behind what she's saying, and the Obama campaign is playing this card to perfection. I say bravo to Mrs. Ferraro for standing up to intimidation.

Too bad Hillary doesn't have the same fortitude and character as Geraldine...

Wow if she can ride this out to it's conclusion, could we see a turn from the P.C. world we live in when it comes to race? Could we be this lucky?

This statement may not be racist but it has the racial overtones that only the Dems can get away with. True or not (I happen to believe the staement to be valid) only the Dems can say things like this and get away with it. If a Republican had said this, he would be finished.

You can say any statement has racial overtones when it is one race talking about another. People have to get over themselves. Those dark days of keeping people down because of the color of their skin are over. Oops, was that "dark days" reference racial?

Funny they all slammed her for that completely valid and non racist comment. yet when Spitzer commits a felony not one Democrap came out against him. A perceived racial comment takes priority over the Governor of NY dealing for years with organized crime figures. Oh well as long as we have racial harmony everything is fine I guess.. No wait.. We do not have it. Them Mayor of Detroit (or Chicago I forget) came out today saying he has been called a N***er more in the last few days than in the last 10 years. Lets keep race in the headlines, no matter what and at all costs. Is anyone else getting just a little sick of being either called a racist, or being made to feel like we had something to do with slavery and or black oppression?

her correct statement was made more even more valuable by using herself as an example; recognizing that she got special treatment as a woman vice-presidential candidate.
