Obama: U.S. should accept some responsibility for what happened on 9/11
By Rizzuto

Mon Mar 17, 2008 - I nabbed this letter off of crazy Alex Jones' website, and while he might use it to prove Obama's complacency in the 9/11 conspiracy, that's not where I'm going with this obviously. This letter was a response to a woman named Penny, who according to Jones' website "outlined her great concern that criminal elements of the government were directly complicit in the attacks." The response is obviously a form letter since as a US senator I'm sure Obama received dozens of these.
Dear Penny:

Thank you for contacting me regarding your belief that the U.S. government was complicit in the terror attacks of September 11, 2001. I appreciate hearing your passionate views on this matter.

While I do not believe the U.S. government was complicit in the attacks, I do think it should be held accountable for the unacceptable mistakes it made in the run-up to that terrible day. The blunders that occurred prior to the 2001 attacks were inexcusable and often outrageous. The series of clear warnings about the potential use of hijacked planes as weapons is just one example of why the "surprise" of 9/11 should have been anticipated. In my view, proof of government complicity is not necessary when making the argument that the U.S. should accept some responsibility for what happened on 9/11.

Thank you again for writing.

Sincerely,

Barack Obama
United States Senator
The US should accept some responsibility for what happened on 9/11? Is it me, or does that last sentence smack of "America's chickens coming home to roost"?

Genius! Obama has found a way to pick-up potential Ron Paul voters.

Between the "Pastor" Wright scandal and this (if it ever gets into the mainstream media), this man has no chance. But then again, if it came from Alex Jones' website, who knows if it is genuine. Next he'll probably have pictures of Obama at the Bohemian Grove complex worshiping an over-sized, paper mache owl.

Well, for the sake if full disclosure I had to point out that it came from Alex Jones. The letter seems legit.

Hey now. "Blowback" is a far cry from "Bush let 9/11 happen!1!1!", at least from the viewpoint of this Paulbot.
